The Master layout provides the user with the functionality to create and modify the Master layouts through a new dedicated page in the Manage section:
The Master layouts feature allows Superusers to create new Master layouts:
Click on the Master Layout option shown under Manage.
Select + Master Layout: .
On the new modal, supply a name for the new Master layout, and a description if required:
The new Master Layout is shown with the default master layout:
Master Layout settings
The default layout of the newly created Master Layout can be edited via the Layout settings button: .
The layout settings button opens a new window.
This window provides the options to select:
- Navigation : toggle to show or remove the navigation bar on or from the new master layout, respectively. This setting is active by default.
- Header : toggle to show or remove the header section on or from the new master layout, respectively. This setting is active by default.
Sidebar : toggle to show or remove a sidebar on or from the new master layout, respectively. This setting is inactive by default. The placement of the sidebar can be selected from the dropdown menu. The placements are:
Placement Option Placement Left Left (wide) Right Right (wide)
Footer : toggle to show or remove a footer on or from the new master layout, this setting is inactive by default.
Once complete, click on Save.
Adding a new row or zone
A Zone or Row can be added by clicking on the . In the new small modal, select either Zone or Row. If a Zone is selected, then provide a name:
In the following example, a sidebar is added to the right by selecting Sidebar with the placement and dimension option of Right wide. In this example, a new row is added. Finally, click on Publish to enable the new master layout:
Select the Master layout of a page
Pages, when created, can utilize the Master layout to define their own layouts.
In the following example, the Basic Master layout is used to define the actual layout of the Custom_Home_Page:
The user clicks on +Page to create a new page. In the new modal, a name is provided, and the Basic layout is chosen from the Master layout drop-down:
Update the Master layout of a page
A page created using one Master layout can be changed to another Master layout:
On the relevant page, click on the Info tab:
Click on the pencil icon to edit the settings:
Scroll down to the Master layout property:
Delete this master layout by clicking on the X and select a new Master layout from the menu:
Export Master layouts
Master layouts can be exported and imported using the Export/Import functionality.
