Configure search restrictions

In Sitecore Content Hub, you can apply restrictions to search facets and full-text searches. For example, you can limit the number of items displayed by a search facet and the length of a full-text search token.

To configure search restrictions:

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage and then click Settings.

  2. On the Settings page, click SearchConfiguration and then click RestrictionsConfiguration.

  3. Fill out the following fields:

FieldDescriptionDefault
single_facet_limitLimit number of displayed search items for a single facet.25
grouping_facet_limitLimit number of displayed search items for a grouping of facets.25
total_facet_limitLimit number of displayed search items for all facets.100

wildcard_modeDefines the wildcard behavior in full-text searches. The available options are:
  • StartsWith - treats the search term as if it begins with an asterisk, without one needing to be included.
  • Match - evaluates wildcards written in the search term, but does not consider there is a wildcard at the start or end of the term unless explicitly included.
  • Contains - treats the search term as if it begins and ends with an asterisk, without either needing to be included. Does not support exclusions and considers any non-alphanumeric character a special character, except periods (".").
  • Contains
