Boost a property

You can influence the order that assets appear in search results by enabling the Boost property on a specific member. This means that when there are multiple entities that match the keyword, entities with boost enabled rank higher in the search results. To boost a property, you modify the schema.

In this example, the superuser adds two new fields to the schema: Author and AuthorInfo.

To boost search results:

  1. On the Manage page, click Schema.
  2. In the search box, enter M.Asset and then select it.
  3. On the M.Asset page, click the Overview tab, click New member.
  4. In the New member dialog box, next to PROPERTY, click Select.
  5. From the data type list, select String and click Next.
  6. In the Name field, enter Author and the define the following properties:
    • Click the Include in content switch to make it active.
    • Click the Boost switch to make it active.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Repeat steps 4 to 7 with the following properties:
    • Name: AuthorInfo
    • Label: Author Information
    • Click the Include in content switch to make it active.
    • Make sure that the Boost switch is inactive.
